Why Libertarians should vote for Obama

Marginal Revolution makes the case.

The leadership of the Libertarian Party of Alaska endorsed Palin for Governor in 2006. She spoke to two LP meetings that year at their invite. Even her Libertarian opponent in the race Billy Toien endorsed her the last 3 days, telling his supporters to "vote for Sarah."

I wonder if the Libertarian Party of Illinois has ever supported Obama? Somehow, I think not.

Marginal Revolution made the case for why "thinking" Libertarians should vote for Obama, not why nonthinking Libertarians should vote Republican.

So, Mimi are you a Libertarian Party member? Have you worked to put the Libertarian Party on the ballot in all 50 states? Carried any clipboards lately?

Amazing that all these liberals, who normally despise us Libertarians, all of a sudden 50 days before the election start claiming to be "libertarian friendly," and start asking for our votes.

Are you all for real?

Do you honestly think we Libertarians are that gullible?

Sarah Palin attended TWO Libertarian Party meetings in Anchorage in 2005/06.

Tell us, when and where did Barack Obama reach out to Libertarians? What was the date of his attendance at a Libertarian Party meeting?

He was a State Senator in Illinois for 8 years. Did he work to reduce ballot access restrictions to help third parties like the LP?

Oh, that's right, he was too busy trying to get political opponents kicked off the ballot.

You know from reading my blog that I am a Democrat. I do phone banking for our local Democratic candidate for Congress. I know one Libertarian who sometimes reads my blog. I had no idea any other Libertarian read it. And you are right, I consider Libertarians deluded people who do not realize the horrors of the Corporatism that will continue under either a Libertarian or a Republican agenda. I hear some Libertarians say that the state should provide only protection from local and external enemies. That really seems deluded to me.
