Holes

Went to see the play "Holes" at the Foothill Theatre Company tonight. Play was very well done with familiar and new faces playing multiple characters. Staging was bare but effective with multiple holes opening up in the fake desert floor. All the coincidences come together for a happy ending for the formerly cursed Stanley Yelnats.

Safeway Grand Opening

Spent the afternoon today in the new Safeway. It was very much like the Whole Foods in Boulder and very crowded. I saw a great cross section of people I know in the community. Had lunch there off of samples---soup, sandwich, meatloaf, roast beef, bread, cracker with brie, fruit and juice--and I am sure I missed some items in the crowd. They had a roulette wheel with the numbers of the checkout lanes on it and the gal in front of me won a bag of groceries. They were also giving away shuffles. Wm decided not to go. He stayed home and sunbathed on the deck. It was just as well as the slow crowds gave me a sore jaw and face and I had to take some ibuprofen when I got home. Wm asked me if I will shop there in the future and I said I will shop for bargains at Grocery Outlet first and then go to the Safeway.

Power of Nightmares

Spent 3 hours today watching this 2004 BBC series. Very good take on the origins of the politics of fear.

Today's Thoughts

Wm has been working on a blog. Sure his will be great as he is spending a lot of time on it--unlike me. Watched the Manchurian Candidate last night. Gave me strange thoughts.

Plan to go out to buy some books today. I have run out of reading material and the bookstore of Cyndi looks to be snowed in.

to get a phone

This is a photo of Ben from when I was in Texas. He is very fond of bubbles and he has such fine Richard hair that the bubbles get in his hair.

Today I went to Auburn to get a new phone. I got a pretty red one. I will be able to take pictures when I figure it out. It will also play music. I will be able to use this phone in Europe for cheaper than some of the europhone deals I had been looking at. Of course now that we have gotten rid of the phone that dad had and never used, he says he will be using this phone a lot. I am just going to lay low on this one.
